You wake up in the morning and get the kids ready and leave to drop them off at school. Your guilt ravaged you when you saw them cry when they were young. You decided to quit your job to stay home with them. What do you do now that you're ready to make the decision to go back?

These days it is a lot more complicated to get employment when you have not done it in awhile. Most females find it harder to go back to the workforce than men do. It has been proven that thirty seven percent of women that have taken time off receive lower wages when they return to work. It is most often said that if you make the choice to take time off you should keep in touch with your colleges. This will insure that you can get some job leads that will guide you into finding employment after your time off.

Always be sure that you have a refined attitude for what you want out of a job or career when you decide to go back to work. Remember that you might have to take a job that is a little bit on the bad side considering you still want the time for your kids. It is not a lot of time but you at least want to have a workday that is short enough so that you can pick the kids up or at least meet them when they get home. Make sure you know the trade offs you are willing to make. If you have not kept in touch with your peers you might want to start now. You will be surprised at the help you can get from other people that are and have been working while you were not.

Always remember to take money into consideration to. You will find that it costs a little more than you realize to go back to work. Many factors like childcare and taxes come into affect when you make the decision to return to work. In the long run you will see that a good paying job might lead to a better one in time. Always fine-tune your attitude toward going to work again. You might have to take a pay cut or the job might not quite be what you expected. You always need to keep a positive attitude and know that something better might come later.

Just remember to keep your head up and keep looking until you find a career that is right for you. If you make the decision to go back to work, fine tune all the steps that are needed to get back into the loop of the working class and do not give up until you succeed in what you want achieve.
